Another significant advantage is its exceptional dimensional stability. Swelling and shrinkage are drastically reduced compared to conventional wood. This ensures uniform joints, reduces stress on fixings, and allows the terrace to maintain its pristine appearance over the long term. Accoya® decking boards are particularly easy to care for. For regular cleaning, water combined with a broom or soft brush is sufficient. For more stubborn dirt, mild decking cleaners or suitable green growth removers can be used. Wire brushes and pressure washers should be avoided to prevent roughening the surface. A protective treatment is not technically necessary, as the durability is maintained regardless of surface care. Those who wish to preserve the light wood tone can use a UV-resistant decking oil. Without treatment, a uniform, silvery-gray patina will develop over time, giving the wood a natural and elegant character.
